"I don't know.. We could check further in?" Drake suggested, blinking a few times, forcing back tears.

'Okay... Lets go..' he said trying to maybe lighten the mood, though he knew it was a pathetic try...

"..." Drake couldn't reply.. He had ran out of words. And at a lack of words, he kept walking in silence.

Torin held in a sigh, and followed behind. He hoped he wasn't making Drake feel worse..

The scent suddenly struck the back of Drake's head like a ticklish fraction of memory.. But he would for now follow this..queen's orders, and therefore he didn't put up with as much surprise as he would have. While he tried to play 'human' or whatnot, he had to quell his need to exert a certain amount of words. "..Eh!.." He started, as if he sneezed. "I think we should look over this way!" He said, pointing on a path that lead slightly back to the waterfall, bending towards the river that lead away from it.

Vaedurin had been walking since dawn.
He hadn't really noticed. It was the pattern of his days now. Walk until too tired to go any further. Drop, eat, sleep, repeat the next day. Keep walking, keep looking for information. There had to be something about his brother. Someone had to know who had really attacked the Queen. He knew it hadn't been Jothrin, couldn't have been. In fact, such thoughts didn't even bare thinking of.
His sanity depended on it.
Vae began to feel the familiar tremblings of his leg muscles that signalled his exhaustion. He sighed. One more day of nothing. One more day wasted. In the distance he heard the familiar, welcoming rush of a river. At least he'd get a bath tonight, and be able to refill his water skins. There'd probably be lush greens and berries around as well, a welcome change from dried meat.
He adjusted his pack on his shoulders and trudged wearily in the direction of the water.
Suddenly, he heard a sound that was almost like a sneeze, followed by voices. Reflexively, he ducked behind some bushes, but as his did so, he slipped on a dewy patch and went down with a thud, cursing loudly in surprise as he did so.
So much for his big plan about hiding. They were sure to have heard him now.
"Bugger..." he thought to himself.

Hadn't Drake's ears been covered up by his scarf, they would have been perking at the sound of someone dropping to the ground.. "You heard that?" He inquired to Torrin, feeling a bit insecure.. He was used to encountering extremely strong and quick foes.. especially from training. Which often made him nervous when he didn't know what could be there.. He hadn't the ability to smell that well underneath the scarf.. and he still often relied of hearing and eyesight.

He glanced up at Drake, then stuck his nose in the air... 'Smells like an elf...' He said plainly, ears twitching slightly.. He blinked slowly, 'Anything wrong..?' Feeling a sense of what seemed like awkwardness...' He looked in the direction of where Vaedurin fell..

Vaeudrin crouched as low as he could, hardly daring to breathe. Mentally, he ran through a string of curses of varying foulness and several languages. They'd heard him. One was a werewolf, and he was looking directly at this poor hiding place. The other was a creature he had never seen before.
Either way, he didn't trust them. He didn't trust anyone. Perhaps if he kept silent and didn't move, they'd think it was just an animal, now long gone.
A small part of Vae knew he was fooling himself. All too well he knew how good a werewolf's sense of smell was. That wolf over there knew there was an elf hiding here and there was nothing he could do about it.
So he had a choice: Cower in the dirt and wait for them to find him, or stand and face them. If they were friend, then they could just make their pleasantries and Vae would be on his way again.
If not... Vae had his sword. Maybe he could take them both down, or at least kill one of them before they got him.
Vae took a deep breath and stood, his hand going behind his right shoulder for the hilt of his sword. He'd face them, come what may.
((OOC: Cheerful lil bugger, ain't he? >_>))

Drake raised an eyebrow. "Fine.. thypic for elves, I'd say.." Said Drake, rolling his eyes. "Come out, come out!" He then shouted to Vae. (Just a reminder.. Drake is dressed so that you could easily mistake him for a human.. people seem to forget this)

The human (Was he human? Vae had been so sure he'd been something else, just a few minutes ago... had he been wrong? He didn't move like an elf, so he must be human, right?) called out to him as he stood and stepped free of the brambles and leaves that tangled around his legs. His hand never left the hilt of his sword as he stared at the two strangers, trying not to let fear and uncertainty touch his eyes.
"Who are you?" Vae demanded, then realising this may be mistaken for hostility, softened his voice slightly. "I mean you no harm, if you mean the same for me. I am just a traveller passing through." He halted, every nerve quivering as he waited to see what the companions would do next.
