She smiled and staredoff at the ocean. "Where did you come from?" she asked him. "What was it like beyond this ocean?"

His face darkened. "Different", he replied shortly and gazed again over the sea. It had been different... "I was born free, but taken as a hostage at a very young age. I became a warrior, and now..." His voice trailed off. "I'm free, but everything has changed"

"I might have, if you had any visible weapons," she said joking and indicating that it was hidden smartly in the trees. Lan was still looking for it. She smiled. She would never loose her bow. She loved it too much. It was just a ploy to get her guards away from her.
